OVERVIEW: Assist Group Admissions and Venue Experiences Department as needed, primarily with monitoring, setting up and tearing down of evening and weekend events. The Lead serves as a liaison between clients, museum staff, and vendors.
FLSA STATUS: On Call, Hourly/Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Group Admissions and Venue Experiences
Primary function of this position is ensuring client and vendor compliance with Museum policies and regulations while upholding high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
The Lead is responsible for utilizing all available resources to ensure a successful event.
Due to events being scheduled throughout the day and evening times in various Museum venues, on occasion, scheduling may require this position to be assigned to support the Facilities Department in maintenance-related functions in regards to set-up and break-down of event spaces.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required
A minimum of one (1) year experience in event coordination, or related experience required
Working knowledge of events, meeting planning, and catering
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in indirect supervision skills and comfortable making independent decisions.
Able to make sound decisions quickly while under pressure
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, clients
Demonstrate respect in both positive and negative situations with strong emphasis on communicating to large groups
Attention to detail with strong multi-tasking and customer service skills
